Whether it’s a family’s first baby or their tenth, a doula can help make the birth and postpartum experience better. A Doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
Research shows that women who use a birth doula are:
- less likely to need Pitocin
- less likely to have a cesarean birth
- less likely to use any pain medication
- more likely to rate their childbirth experience positively
Fees: I offer two packages on a value for value sliding scale. Both packages include 1 prenatal with couple visit, 3 prenatal massages, birth attendance, 1 postnatal in-home visit, and 1 postnatal massage. The differences are:
- For under a 13-hour birth attendance is between $1,000 and $1,300.
- A 13 plus hour of birth attendance is between $1,300 and $1,600.
Initial Free Consultation: This is an opportunity for us to all meet and I can learn what you are looking for in a doula. We will ask you questions so that we can get an idea about what support you are looking for and if/how we can fill that role. A $500 deposit is due when you sign your contract with us. This fee will cover pre-natal session, 3 prenatal massages, post-natal session, and post-natal massage. 60 minutes
Pre-Natal Couples Session: During this session, we will go over your birth plan and discuss how you would like me to support you during your birth. There will also be an opportunity to go over different positions you can use during labor. If you are having a home birth this session should be done in your home. 90 minutes
The Birth: Once labor begins and I receive your call, I can meet you in your home or at the hospital. I will be there to emotionally and physically support you. I will stay as long as the birth takes plus a few hours after to help in any way I can.
Post-Natal Session: This is a home visit to check in on you and baby within a few weeks after your birth to assist you if have any questions, need help breastfeeding, or need any recommendations for additional care. Such as a post-natal doula or lactation consultant. 90 minutes
Postnatal Massage: After you have had your baby having a massage can help hormone regulation, reduction of swelling, and sleeping. It can also assist with the healing of a c-section. If you have has a c-section please wait 6 weeks after your birth. americanpregnancy.org/
